Finding Grace

Finding Grace
In the midst of a world that is so full of corruption, it seems to be more difficult for people to find grace. Grace in it's easiest definition means, unearned favor. In other words it's something nobody can get by any means other than accepting it when it's offered.
We are in a world of apparent wickedness and everywhere we turn we see people who are angry, confused, bewildered and hopeless. We can see the violent explosive just under the surface and at any moment it can be detonated. If just a few go off at all at the same time, we will have complete civil violence and who knows what would be the ending of that.
I'm remembering another time when society was just in the same condition. "The earth also was corrupt before God and the earth was filled with violence." (Gen. 6:11). Even though there was violence, corruption, and wickedness everywhere, there was one man who "found grace" in the eyes of the Lord. (Gen 6:8).
When we are faced with such seemingly unconcern about life and general carelessness about other we often have a tendency to gravitate to the level of those around us. In other words, we become just like them in most cases just in order to survive. But not so with Noah.
The scripture tells us that he was a preacher of righteousness even in such troublesome times. (2 Peter 2:5). He didn't allow himself to be reduced to the level of those around him but rather endeavored to persuade them to find and taste of the grace of God. I'm sure that somebody is saying, 'but how do you find grace when nobody seems to have any much less offer some to you?'
Again the scriptures show us that the only real source of grace is God. He tells us that though sin and corruption have a very real affect, His grace can have a more powerful, more lasting effect. It reads, 'where sin abounds, grace did much more abound.' (Romans 5:20), 'we are saved by grace though faith.' (Eph 2:8).
This is the reason we are given scriptures. It is so that we all can know that there is grace to be found in Jesus Christ.
This same grace also gives us access to God. In all times of life, whether they are good or bad, we who have found grace in the sight of God can also find strength, peace, joy, and God's help in every situation. The key is to gravitate to God and not to the world around. (Romans 5:1-5).
The Bible tells us over and over that God is love, and in that love He gives grace. Something we cannot earn or get any other way except to receive it. So when we hear someone preaching about God's salvation, healing, deliverance or His presence and power in times of trouble, we can know He is offering us grace for our lives. If we accept it, we have found grace!
You see Noah's secret is that he listened to God instead of the world around him. I know the pressures are great. I know that people everywhere, teens and young adults especially, are pushed and pulled until it seems you're coming apart. Statistics show that suicide, murder, drugs, etcetera, are on the rise among this age group. But I want you to know that you all can find God's grace for your life and in doing so you can have the biggest impact on the world of any generation in the history of mankind! You all ca become the preachers of righteousness to your generation just as Noah was to his. Your grace life and example will turn the hearts of multiple millions to the Lord and they will find grace also!
God made His grace available to everybody. It is recorded in His Word, preached by those who have already found it and now it is made visible and available to you the reader. Accept it; it is grace and it's free from God to you through Jesus Christ!
Jesus said, seek and you will find!
