Newness of Life

Newness of Life

One of the reasons Christianity losses its appeal for some is because it grows stale and unexciting. The biggest reason for this is that the newness of the beginning life has been allowed to wear down. Some ministers tell people that it’s suppose to be that way; others still try and create something exciting to keep people interested. Beloved, no one can create anything more exciting than God. He has so much in store for us, we only need to look for and expect the new things and newness of life that he has made available to us.

The way to keep life new in Christ is to feed the life with life. “Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (II Peter 3:18) “Grow”. Let life grow by increasing the knowledge of life. This is done by feeding on the word of life that is fresh every day. “Desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby.” (I Peter 2:1-3) By feeding ourselves on the life of the word, we will begin to see and know that God is making new things for us and he is telling us about them. Not only is he telling us about them, he is showing them to us and every day becomes an exciting adventure of learning and experiencing the newness of life we are given in Jesus Christ!
God says to us: “New things do I declare – before they spring forth I tell you of them” (Is. 42:9) “Behold I do a new thing; now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Is. 43:19)
“I have showed thee new things from this time, even hidden things and thou didst not know them-they are created now, and not from the beginning.”(Is. 48:6-7b)
Now begin to meditate on these promises and put them in your heart, mind, and mouth as you feed the life in you with the newness of God’s life giving Word everyday. Even when it seems like things are getting dry – you go to His word that makes rivers of living water flow in and the desert sprouts and the wilderness blossoms and the new springs forth just as he promised, you expect and now it is! Praise God!
Go on and grow and get strong in the Lord and the power of his might and before you know it you’ll feel your feet begin to leave the ground as you mount up with wings as eagles! (Is. 40:31)
