Seeing the Future

No, I’m not talking about fortune tellers, crystal balls or psychics. They can only lead you down a false trail that will end in despair, disappointment and trouble. Neither will you find the answers for your future in the horoscope. All of these and more are satan’s perverted devices to lead people away from God. Only the true and only wise God can show you a future that is true and wise and good for you! He can show you, because if you are born again you belong to Him. He is the one that has the master plan for your life! If you are not born again then you don’t have hope for the future, but that can change right now! Just ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins, come into your heart and take charge of your life. If you mean it, it’s that simple to be born again. God said, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
So let’s take a look at God’s promise about our future. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11) How wonderful and powerful this promise is! God thinks on us and plans our future so it will be good! Praise the Lord! To see our future there is something we must do. As we look at the next verse we see. “Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with your whole heart.” (Jeremiah 29:12-13)
The key here is to seek the Lord with our whole heart. He is not hiding from us. He just wants us to be His with all that is in us. He said, when giving the commandments to Moses, thou shalt have no other god’s before me. God wants us to put Him first in our lives. When Jesus was asked about commandments He said to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, mind, soul and strength was worth more than anything! (Mark 12:28-31)
You see, God doesn’t want to have to compete for our attention, love and devotion. Amos put it like this, “How can two walk together except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3) By seeking God in prayer and study of His Word, we can begin to agree with Him about life and His plans for our lives. By planning our lives ourselves or trusting some other source of inspiration we are disagreeing with God and His plans. We cannot know what God wants when we disagree with Him.
As we begin to see the will of God and learn His ways then we can begin to see His plan for us that it is always good. We can then put the plan into action by faith and see the God expected end come to pass. This will cause us to rejoice and give glory to God for our success in life. When God gets all the glory, He is pleased!
When Jesus was talking about the Holy Ghost coming, one of the things He said He would so is show us things to come. (John 16:3) This is in direct keeping with the scripture in Jeremiah. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will show us by the Word, sometimes He will speak to our Spirit, sometimes through a message we hear( it is important that we all go to church), sometimes by another believer. There are many ways in which God can make His plan known. The important thing for us is to be so in communication with Him that we know when it is Him. One of the most often made mistakes of believers is mistaking and misinterpreting what they’re hearing to be God when it is really not. Test everything to make sure, seek for Godly counsel. With time and faithfulness you will come to hear God’s voice and see His plan for your future. I know it is a good future, a good life in Jesus Christ! Seek Him and it with all your heart and you will not fail because you will find.
