He is Risen!!!

He is Risen!

As I write this, we have just returned home from a conference where 1500 people  representing forty-five churches were assembled to give praise and glory to Jesus Christ! Why? because they knew He Is Risen! Most of them have had an experience with Jesus that changed their lives! Many more had that same life changing experience before they left the meetings.

I am amazed at how we all try and live life without Jesus. How can anyone live life without having true life? We can't! That's why we all spend so much time and energy seeking the living among the dead. Listen to this week's scripture: "And as they... bowed down their faces... they said unto them, why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but He is Risen---" ( Luke 24:5-6)

The women at the tomb of Jesus were looking for a dead body. The angel reminded them of Jesus' Words, "The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified and the third day shall rise again." (V. 7)

For them it was hard to imagine or believe that someone could die then live again. Even though Jesus had told all His followers about His crucifixion and resurrection, it was not understood or believe until it had actually happened.

For us today that event seems so far away and so long ago. Our times have changed and even many religious teachers of our day teach that Jesus didn't really die and rise again. How sad and damaging that report is when there are so many seeking fr life and only finding death.

All of us want life. Every ounce of our being will fight to preserve life. Trouble is there are so many that don't realize what true life is or where to find it.  we are looking. That is why sports are so big. That is why the music industry has so many listener's that spend billions of dollars on a voice that will only fade in times of difficulty or trouble. This seeking for life has caused the electronics industry to become the most used , most powerful tool of our day.

However, with all these sources of noise, visual effects and information, when the sun goes down and all is dark and quiet no peace remains. There is no healing around and no offer of salvation seems to produce a lasting hope and confidence or the night or your future. Nevertheless, tomorrow is coming!

What I have describes is the way the disciples felt after the crucifixion. All hope was gone. Their dreams were shattered. Their understanding of what God had promised suddenly seemed to them to be little more than a fairy tale. However, the morning came!

When people went to the tomb expecting to find a dead body. What they found instead was life, Resurrection Life! Death had lost, hope revived and all they had expected before was revived and more! Jesus had risen, He was alive! He lives forever!

These and others with them trusted Jesus with their lives and eternal salvation. They had the promise- because Jesus lives, you shall live also and they believed it. It was everything to them. They knew that because Jesus had conquered death. He could also conquer every other enemy of life. They no more sought the living among the dead.

So, how about you? Where have you been looking for life and only finding death? How many trips to the same old familiar graveyards have you made to only find the same dead things you have always found before? How many times have you expected them to come to life just to find it to be impossible? Why seek ye the living among the dead?

The whole Christian faith is established and continues on this truth, Jesus is alive! This is our hope and our confidence, that because He lives, we live also. Only Jesus has the power to deliver us from all power of darkness and death!

It is time for you to accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord, He is Risen! Please allow Him to rise in your life!
