A Man like David

"I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him." (Psalm 89:20-26)
When I read scripture, I find David to be such inspiration. He is named all through Scripture as one who had God's mercy, favor and promises.
Here we find that God spoke of finding David; as though he had been searching for him. When Samuel told Saul that he had lost the kingdom, he said that God had sought Him a man after His own heart and commanded him to be captain over his people. (I Samuel 13:14)
God was looking for someone He could trust. Saul had proven himself untrustworthy. Scripture shows us God has this searching going on a regular basis. "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him." (II Chron. 16:9)
He found David to be a man after His own heart. Look how God showed Himself strong on the behalf of a man who was after His own heart. Davis was the greatest king in the history of humanity, he was the greatest warrior, the greatest praiser and his name is written among the great men of the earth! He also received great and wonderful promises from God that are fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
When God found David, He found his heart first. Remember, He said, God does not look on outward appearance as man does, God looks at the heart. David was just a teenager boy when found being faithful, obedient and serving his family. Though a boy naturally, God saw the heart of a champion and anointed him to be King over Israel!
God had already commanded David to lead, feed, teach and serve however, without the anointing, his ability was hindered. Many of us have a command or call, if you will, from God today but find it difficult and sometimes it appears impossible to fulfill. We feel frustrated, sometimes at the point of giving up, and sadly, many do just that. It is because we are focusing on our ability instead of Gods.
Remember, it was David's heart that God was searching for and found. It is your heart that God saw when you received Jesus Christ and became born again.  It is our own heart that God will continue to look at, deal with and change. Listen to David's prayer years after he became the anointed captain:" Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139:23-24)
If things are not going the way you thought they should, if your vision is becoming dim, your hope diminishing and your faith dwindling, go back to the altar! Get back to the basics and allow Gods anointing to come upon you and revive you! Then get back at it in the power and leadership of the Holy Ghost and see how God shows himself strong ad mighty on your behalf!
David would not stop until he had fulfilled the will of God. Enemies, armies, devil nor sickness were allowed to stop him till he was done!
Now you pray as David did Now O God, forsake me not, until I have showed thy power to every one that is to come. (Psalm 71:18)
Now then, let us get er done! In the name of Jesus!
