The Place of His Name

The Place of His Name
The Bible begins with these words: "In the beginning God"... The word 'God' here is actually Elohem. It means God the Father, God the Word, and God the Holy Ghost.
The entire Godhead was involved in creating. In John chapter one we are told that the word was God and was with God created all things. Back in Genesis, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep and creation began.
When sin came, men entered a new realm of being that was separate from God but there was as is today, a keen awareness of God and the Bible says they began to "call upon the name of the Lord". (Gen. 4:26). By the time this took place most people had lost the true name God had used with Adam so they started to use other names or simply made up a name which described the kind of God they imagined him to be.
When God called Abram out, He revealed Himself by the name of El Shaddai, which means 'God the mighty one' or 'the God of more than enough' which He certainly proved himself to be.
But when Moses met with God in the desert he asked "who shall I say sent me and what is His name?" to which God replied, "I am that I am. This is my name and it is to be a memorial throughout all generations." He then stated that He would use the name Jehovah to enter into covenant with the children of Israel.
God is so particular about this name that part of Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain". Then when He passed before Moses in the mount, He proclaimed the name of the Lord as merciful, gracious, longsuffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression and sin. (Ex. 34:5-7).
When going into Egypt, He declared the He was going to make a name for Himself in all the Earth. (Ex. 9:16). Then in Deuteronomy 12:2-5, God said that in the place where He would place His name is the place where people are to come and pray, give, rejoice, worship etcetera. He placed it first in the tabernacle Moses built. David desired a place for the name of the Lord when the tabernacle was not being used and he set up a tent for all to be able to meet with God. Solomon built a temple but Jesus built him a house! Jesus said "I come in my father's name."
The Psalmist said that the name of the Lord is to be praised and when Jesus came, they proclaimed, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord."
The place where God records His name is the habitation of God. And God said to be sure you tear down the name, alters ect, of all other gods and seek Him only.
No other name is given under heaven among men whereby we must be saved. God has given Jesus the name above all names in heaven, in earth and under the earth; that at the name of Jesus, ever knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father!
As many as receive Him, God gave the power to become sons and daughters of God even to them that believe on His name. In the name of Jesus we can pray, preach, heal, and do many mighty works!
The last command of Jesus was to proclaim His name in the whole world for repentance, forgiveness of sins, eternal salvation and power to live a victorious life!
Shouldn't you come to the name of Jesus? It's where God lives. He lives in the people that have already come to His name and we are now calling you to join us!
