God Working in Me

God Working in Me
Would you just stop a moment and say that out loud? God is working in me.
Isn't that a wonderful thing to know? I am sure that God is working in me! Are you sure of that today? I certainly hope so.
The Bible tells us in Philippians two verse thirteen that "It is God who works in us both to will and do of His good pleasure."
You see, all of us before coming to know Jesus Christ as our personal savior, were under the influence and control of another god, the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air. However, after being born again, we are under the influence and control of our Heavenly Father, who has redeemed us by the precious blood of Jesus and has given us His word and Holy Spirit to teach us and guide us. Well, Praise the Lord!
Would you just say right now, "I desire to please the Lord!" Do you mean that? If you really do mean that, it is because God is working in you! Before, you did not desire to please God; you and I only desired to please ourselves.
The scripture says for us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. (Phil 2:12). We see that it begins with a personal relationship with God and it remains a personal work of God the rest of our lives. We must yield to this personal work of God in us for it to take affect and change us. Though we are all a part of the world wide church and we are to be part of and yielded to a local body of believers, the work of God in us as individuals must take place before a body of believers can ever be what it is supposed to be. It takes people, one at a time to make up the whole. God works in each part to make the whole what it should be.
As individuals we are to reverence God; holy reverence of His word, His ways, and the reality of His presence in us at all times. Think about that! God is in you all the time if you are a born again believer. When we do this personally and corporately, then God is working his work in us.
We can never do this on our own. It takes God's spirit on the inside working in our hearts. It also takes a work in our minds. Our old mind was not fixed on God. However as we study God's word, the Bible, and receive faith we find that our thoughts begin to be like God's thoughts. Our minds are being renewed. This is God working in us to change our will.
Many people can do things that are good things and many of them are things that please God. However, what God is looking for is a heart that desires to do the will of God. Doing the will of God from the heart is far different than doing the will of God by a law or from someone's pressure by heaping guilt and condemnation on you. To know and do the will of God mentally becomes bondage, but to know and do from the heart is liberty.
By the continual work of God in us, our will is steadily changed until it becomes God's will. There is no longer a struggle about wanting to do the will of God; it has now become our heart, mind and nature to do the will of God.
Now there is the doing of His will. Now that our want to has been changed, we must find the how to. This is where a lot of people get bogged down. IT seems that the enemy works hardest here so as to stop the actual doing of God's will. All we need do is see and understand that God working in us also gives us His ability to do His will. He will never ask to do something that He does not give us the means and ability to do. All that is on our part is to yield and cooperate with His working in us both to will and do of His good pleasure.
You see this way, God gets all the glory and we get all the rewards! You think about that!
