Why Are You Still Lost?
(What if I Try and Fail?)

Standing in a dark place a man wept bitterly for the sorrow of his deeds. He had boasted of his love and faith for Jesus saying, “I will follow you even die for you.” Later he even found himself even denying that he even knew Jesus. He had tried and failed, he thought. When Jesus had risen from the dead He said to go and tell my disciples and Peter, the one who denied Him, to come and meet with Him.
When going to Jerusalem a man said boldly, “Let’s all go with Jesus and die with Him,” Just to later say, “I will not believe unless I see the nail prints and put my hand in His side.” Thomas had tried and failed, he thought. Jesus made a special visit to show Thomas and have him do exactly what he said he needed to believe.
It is better to try and fail than to never try at all. I grew up hearing my daddy tell me those words over and over again. If we look at God’s Word we will find God saying to come and believe and He will help us along as a father does his children. It is fear that keeps many people from believing in Jesus and surrendering their lives and eternity to Him. It is pride that keeps others back especially men because so many have been lied to concerning men being Christians. It doesn’t take away your manhood, it moves you into being a real man like Jesus.

When we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord of our lives, we don’t do every thing right, right away. We have to begin to learn how to live as a new creature with Him now teaching us instead of us determining ourselves what we will do or not do.

It is like a new baby, it can’t help itself, it’s completely dependant upon its parents for everything. As time passes the child learns, beginning to crawl, walk, eat, talk, and run all are part of growing up. So it is with a new believer we have to learn and grow. We fall down. Jesus helps us up. I Peter 2:2-5

The devil will tell you that you can’t make it, that your not really saved and it’s not going to work for you. But he is a liar and the Father of lies. (John 8:44)
He tried the came thing with Jesus and failed. When he tries with you he will fail too. (Isaiah 54:17) If you remember that you walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
When accepting Jesus we are accepting everything the Bible says about Him. God’s promises are sure and will not be changed because God cannot lie. (Numbers 23:19 & Titus 1:1-3 & Hebrews 6:18)

God said if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
God said he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)
God said a just man may fall but he will get up for God will help him. Ps. 37:23-24 Proverbs 24:16
None of us are able to live right by ourselves. This is why God made so many promises, wrote them down and gives us his very own faith and Spirit to become His children and stay His for eternity.
When God said, if any one is in Christ, they are a new creation, old things are past away and all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17) He meant it!
So you see it’s not a matter of trying and failing, it’s a matter of believing! Do you believe? Jesus said that we are blessed when we believe without having to see first, for believing first will truly bring us to the place of seeing what all Jesus has done for us.
Why are you still lost? Afraid to try! Afraid to believe! Afraid to change! Call upon Jesus and he will come into your heart and he will not let you down.
P.S. Peter and Thomas who thought they failed became mighty men of God, preaching the gospel, working miracles and boldly told everyone everywhere that Jesus saves. You can do that too! Only believe!
