Why Are You Still Lost?

Why Are You Still Lost?
(Lost and Undone)

Lost! Not heard of much concerning spiritual and/or religious things? Lost is the word Jesus used when he said that He came to seek and save the lost. Luke 19:10
The lost are not lost necessarily because they want to be. Jesus spoke a parable about a Shepherd having a lost sheep that He went out to find. The sheep didn’t get lost by trying to. It simply was living, eating and roaming around wherever its appetite took it. Then it couldn’t find it’s way back. This is what made it lost; it couldn’t find its way back where it belonged. But the Shepherd knew how and where to find the sheep and bring it back: when He does- there is rejoicing in heaven over that sheep that was lost but now is found. Matthew 18: 13
We used to hear a phrase like this in the church---“lost and undone” speaking of those who had not made Jesus the Savior and Lord of their lives. This term “undone” comes from the prophet Isaiah who saw God’s glory and declared himself “undone.” Isaiah knew that he was in no position to be standing in the presence of such glory. Isaiah 6:15
All of us will stand in the presence of that glory some day. Some of us will be glad to see it and others will cry, “I’m undone!” only to hear God say, “Depart from me ye workers of iniquity. “Matthew 7:23
Perhaps you are still lost because you don’t liked being called a sinner. Well not too many people use that word any more. They don’t want to offend people by calling them such a thing as a sinner. But the truth is that’s what God calls us. We’d rather look at ourselves and judge that we’re not so bad than to look at ourselves and see that we are sinners. Most people think that they are only sinners when they have done so much bad stuff. As if they had to earn a degree in sin to be a sinner. But the truth is that we were born sinners. We don’t become sinners when we sin, we sin because we are sinners and without Jesus Christ, we can’t do any thing but sin.
You may still be lost because you don’t know you don’t have to be. So many people view this thing of salvation, Christianity, etc. as something only a certain class of people can have. Maybe your thoughts are that when you quit sinning or get good enough you can be saved. Let me tell you that’s all a bunch of lies that come from the devil. No one will ever get good enough or quit sinning on their own, you, we all need Jesus!
I and other people use to say, “If we went to church, the roof would fall in!” Maybe you have said that too. But let me ask you, have you ever seen that happen? Have you ever heard of that happening? No, you haven’t and I haven’t either. That’s just another way that our sinful self keeps us from getting to the place and people that can help us be saved and live a better life.
Why are you still lost? What can you say to these things? You might say, well, “You just don’t know what I’ve been through!” I may not, but I can assure you that I and others like me have been through our share of hard times, hard knocks, running from God and the truth just like you.
Maybe you think you don’t need a Savior. There are many that lean toward this thinking. But God Himself says that all are in need of a Savior and that Savior is Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23
It’s simply not going to work for you any other way. Fighting against this most important truth will only lead you other into a pit of destruction. Romans 6:23, Hebrews 2:3, Romans 3:23
Just by reading this message you feel God’s Spirit tugging at your heart. Deep inside you know this is time and you know it’ the only way. If we all will just admit that our way doesn’t work and God’s way does, then call upon Jesus to save us from our sinful self, He will hear us and come in to our hearts and we will be saved. I did that 25 years ago and I have never been sorry I did! I’m saved and I know that I am! So, why are you still lost? Won’t you call on Jesus today?
The Good Shepherd will come find you and bring you back where you belong. The rejoicing starts NOW!
